Bride Getting Ready
A Bride in Hotel El Rumbao at El viejo San Juan Puerto Rico
Destination weddings always have a special touch, but Paola and Jay’s wedding at Hotel Rumbao in Old San Juan was, without a doubt, one of my favorites. From the moment I embarked on the journey to Puerto Rico, I felt that excitement that only comes with the anticipation of capturing one of the most important days in a couple's life. It’s an adventure that allows me to combine my passion for photography with the privilege of continuing to work on the island where I was born.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I headed to Paola’s suite, located in one of the most impressive corners of Rumbao. From there, the views were simply breathtaking: on one side, the ocean stretched majestically along the coast of Old San Juan, and on the other, the imposing Fort San Cristóbal framed the scene perfectly. Paola was anxiously waiting for me, ready to begin her big day. The dress she chose was simply spectacular, with every detail exuding elegance and sophistication. Her confidence and charisma shone through in every pose, surrounded by the love and support of her loved ones.
One of the most emotional moments of the morning was when her grandmother and mother entered the room. Sometimes, the deepest emotions are the ones that cannot be hidden, and this was one of those moments. The tears they tried to hold back turned into a beautiful exchange of hugs and smiles. I remained discreet, letting those emotions flow naturally while ensuring I captured every detail that would make these images unforgettable.

Afterward, I moved on to Jay's room. Like Paola, he was surrounded by friends and family, who filled the room with laughter and camaraderie. These types of dynamics make the work much more enjoyable and fun. Jay appeared relaxed and embraced the process, which made it easy to capture genuine, candid moments between him and his loved ones.
The ceremony itself was a dream, with live violins and floral arrangements that perfectly complemented the setting. When Paola and Jay locked eyes for the first time, their excitement was undeniable, and it was not only felt by them but by all the guests. The vows they exchanged were as unique as they were—full of inside jokes and tears of joy—creating a truly special and unforgettable moment that I’m sure will stay in everyone’s hearts.
Portraits at Castillo San Cristobal
After the ceremony, we headed to Castillo San Cristóbal to take the couple's portraits. The sunset light was our best ally, providing a natural glow that made every shot look perfect. Paola and Jay, fully immersed in the moment, gave their best in every photo. It was an incredible session filled with love and connection.
Finally, we returned to Hotel Rumbao for the reception. The cocktail area and the main hall were beautifully decorated, with floral details that added an unparalleled touch of elegance. Then came the first dance and the toast. The dance floor was filled with joy as the couple celebrated their love alongside their friends and family. It was the perfect ending to a day full of emotions and unforgettable moments.
I can’t thank Paola and Jay enough for trusting me to capture their wedding. Every time I have the opportunity to document these moments through my lens, I feel like I’m part of something much bigger. Witnessing such intimate and special moments is a true privilege, and this wedding, with all its splendor, will always hold a special place in my heart.
