As a wedding photographer, there are certain weddings that stay with you for how incredibly special they felt from beginning to end. Deisy and Thomas’ wedding at the stunning Royal Isabela is, without a doubt, one of those unforgettable experiences. They traveled all the way from the United States to celebrate their love on Valentine’s Day, surrounded by breathtaking views and the people they love most.
A relaxed morning full of joy and connection
From the start of the day, I could tell this would be a memorable one. Both Deisy and Thomas were calm, smiling, and fully present, enjoying every part of the getting ready process alongside their closest friends and family. There was no stress, just genuine energy, good vibes, and heartfelt moments—exactly the kind of atmosphere that allows real, emotional photos to happen naturally.
A ceremony by the sea that felt surreal
The ceremony took place on the cliffs overlooking the ocean at Royal Isabela, and the setting was simply out of this world. Clear skies, a gentle breeze, and the sound of the waves made for an unforgettable backdrop. The warm-toned décor perfectly complemented the natural surroundings, enhancing the ambiance without overwhelming it. I have to highlight the flawless work of the wedding coordinator, Krizia, who ensured that everything flowed effortlessly and on time.
Golden light and the gift of time for portraits
As a photographer, I’m always chasing the best light—and that day, the light felt just right all day long. After the ceremony, we hopped on a golf cart and spent nearly an hour exploring the hotel grounds for couple portraits. This part of the day is often rushed or sacrificed due to delays, which is a shame, because it's when the newlyweds can really soak in their just-married moment in the location they chose and invested in. This time, we had the rare luxury of time, and we made the most of it. Every corner felt like a perfect frame.
More than a wedding, an authentic experience
Deisy and Thomas didn’t just choose a beautiful location for their wedding—they created a space where everything felt meaningful. Their guests were fully immersed in the experience, and the whole day flowed with genuine joy. For me, it was an honor to document their love story in such a breathtaking place.
If there’s one takeaway from this wedding, it’s how important it is to enjoy the process, trust your vendors, and be present. When you do that, the photographs don’t just look beautiful—they feel alive.
First dance and toasts under the perfect sunset
As the sun began to set, we moved into the first dance and toasts. The golden hour kept getting better with every passing minute. The light was soft, warm, and wrapped everything in a glow that made each photo look like it belonged in a magazine. From laughter to quiet tears, every expression was beautifully lit and effortlessly real.
