Rachel and Neftali’s story didn’t end on their wedding day, it continued with a stunning post-wedding session in the heart of Old San Juan. Five months after their big day, we created new couple portraits in a completely different setting. Rachel had one wish: photos near Paseo de la Princesa. And that’s where we made it happen.
We started the session in front of Hotel El Convento, one of my favorite spots to begin any photo session in Old San Juan. From there, we walked down the colorful cobblestone streets while the sun gave us that soft, golden light perfect for romantic portraits. On a clear day, San Juan sunsets are simply unmatched.
Rachel and Neftali arrived just as ready as they were on their wedding day. They even recreated the bridal bouquet! Their maid of honor joined us, helping with every detail and making the session feel even more special.
Why Choose a Post-Wedding Session?
As a wedding photographer in Puerto Rico and Maryland, I always recommend considering a post-wedding session (or “Day After Session”). These sessions are the perfect opportunity to capture couple portraits without the time constraints and stress of the wedding day.
During a wedding, couple portraits are often limited by the schedule. A post-wedding session, however, allows couples to relax, pick a unique location, and enjoy the experience of wearing their wedding attire one more time. It’s all about reliving that “just married” feeling in a more intimate and stress-free atmosphere.

Golden Hour at Paseo de la Princesa and San Juan Gate
For this session, we explored some of Old San Juan’s most iconic spots. We stopped at La Rogativa and walked down to the historic San Juan Gate, just as golden hour was at its peak.
One of my favorite things about photographing in Old San Juan is the energy of the city. While taking Rachel and Neftali’s portraits, tourists and locals cheered, some honked their car horns, while others waved from boats and jet skis. It added such a lively and joyful vibe to the session.
The Connection Between Rachel & Neftali
Photographing them felt like going back to the beginning of their love story. I remembered the same chemistry and happiness I saw during their engagement session at Hacienda Don Carmelo. Every smile, every glance—they were filled with genuine emotion.
Rachel and Neftali are the kind of couple that makes my work as a wedding photographer an absolute privilege. Thank you both for trusting me again, not only on your wedding day but also in capturing new chapters of your journey. I truly hope this won’t be the last time I get to document your love!
